Destination Unknown.... = Costa Rica

For the past 6 months or so I have been planning Andrew's 30th birthday surprise trip, we've been calling it Destination Unknown! Our good friends Dan and Brandy joined us on this fun trip. So Brandy and I planned everything out for getting the four of us to Costa Rica without telling the boys. We rented a house in Playa Hermosa with an infiniti pool and amazing views of the ocean. I packed for Andrew, grabbed our passports, arranged for us to drop off Jacey with my parents in Texas and researched all the great things to do in Playa Hermosa. It was an incredible trip and Andrew was so surprised and excited. He got to use his Spanish and did a great job! The weather was absolutely perfect 95 with a gentle breeze and no humidity!!

So here's a break down of what we did:

Tuesday: tried to fly from Lubbock to Dallas but flight was cancelled so we ended up driving to Dallas instead! Had a late dinner with our dear friends Kelli and Chad! It was so great to see them and catch up, we miss them!!

Wednesday: flew from Dallas to Liberia, Costa Rica. Met up with Dan and Brandy, rented a car, and headed to the house. We spent the day in our private pool and then went into Playa Coco for a wonderful dinner by the beach.

Thursday: Spent the day relaxing on floats in our pool, headed for an early dinner at a hotel over looking the beach and watched an amazing sunset. Enjoyed an evening of Guesstures!

Friday: Drove to Witch's Rock for a canopy tour (zip line through the jungle). It was so much fun. Went to a local lunch of fish tacos, yum! Spent the remaining sun time in our pool. We went to a tapas restaurant for dinner.

Saturday: We spent our last full day in the sun. We headed to the beach, went in the warm water, at lunch at a restaurant on the beach, and then went back to enjoy more time in our pool. For dinner we enjoyed a surf and turf at an outside restaurant on the beach.

Sunday: Spent the morning in the pool, sleeping in and reading. Headed to the airport and flew back to Dallas. We we arrived we headed to our hotel.

Monday: reunited with Jacey and the Davis family of 3 headed back to Apple Valley. Where we found our house covered in snow and freezing temperatures made us long for Costa Rica.
